Hey guys, thanks for checking out our website!

The Dead Piett Society is a podcast recorded by a group of four friends from the Southampton area; Al, Kitty, Ed & JP.

We look at the weirdest news from the previous week, we take a trip back through the most bizarre moments in history, we play games to see who can tell made up facts from the freaky truth, we ask strangers random questions, we read out odd listener stories and generally have a lot of fun.

We’re family friendly, not too serious and completely unprofessional. This may be the weirdest podcast you’ll ever hear.

We’re also part of the Brit Pod Scene, a group of British podcasts out to help each other out. You can find out more at www.britpodscene.com.

You’re probably wondering why the name Dead Piett Society?

Admiral Firmus Piett served in the Imperial Starfleet of the Galactic Empire during the later stages of the Galactic Civil War. He initially served as first officer on the Executor, the flagship of Lord Darth Vader, before being promoted to Admiral. He died during the Battle of Endor.

Dead Poets Society is a 1989 film written by Tom Schulman, directed by Peter Weir and starring Robin Williams. Set at the conservative and aristocratic Welton Academy in the Northeastern United States in 1959, it tells the story of an English teacher who inspires his students through his teaching of poetry.

Piett kinda looks/sounds like Poet. And so we swapped them. Because we thought it was funny. You may or may not agree.
